The transition to wearing spring shoes is my favorite.
As we officially step into May and start {consistently} feeling the warmth of spring, transitioning our shoes to spring appropriate footwear is essential. This means I FINALLY get to pack away my beloved Sorels {on sale for under $100!} that I wear everywhere {no shame here; they’re lifesavers for the cold!} and consistently begin incorporating these essential spring shoe trends into my closet. These are the shoe trends I’ve been wearing on repeat and styles that you NEED to incorporate into your wardrobe for spring!
The espadrille.
No surprise here! The espadrille is back again this season and hotter than ever for the warm spring + summer months. Incorporating natural materials into your wardrobe is everything this season {more on this soon!} and a spring essential material for your footwear. A common misconception with the espadrille trend is that the shoe needs to be in the form of a platform or wedge. This isn’t the case! In fact, this spring season we’ll see espadrille slides, mules and flats. I love this because it means that this espadrille spring trend has evolved into a trend that can be worn by anyone and is truly meant for women of all ages.
My personal favorite spring espadrille style is this adorable leather tall wedge that I recently added to my shoe collection and one that you’ll be seeing me wearing non-stop this season. Since this leather version made its debut last season, I scored these babies for over 50% off {!!!!!!!} on an amazing sale. Love me a good deal, sister. However, be sure to snag these quick as there’s only a few sizes left! If leather isn’t your thing, this linen style is equally as amazing and one of their signature styles that is such a dreamy warm weather look. I’m also obsessed with this adorable linen striped lace-up flat style and these fun leather platform slip-ons. Just let me have them all.
The mule.
Backless footwear continues its reign this season and if you don’t already have a few pairs, you’ll want to be sure to include this spring trend essential in your closet this year. I love a good mule because its polished and completely 9 to 5 appropriate. And I mean let’s be real, any chance to take a break from wearing a heel to work is a win for me. The best part? This exact knotted bow mule I snagged last summer {and debuted in this monochromatic red post here} will continue to be right on trend this season and carry me through another year of wear. Hurray! Bonus?! They’re now under $50 and come in 8 different colors!
The slide.
Slides have already gained an incredible amount of traction this year and it’s only May! Seriously, slides are easily one of the top spring shoe essentials you need for your closet this season. My favorite styles include this luxe dupe {that is selling out like hotcakes, P.S.}, as well as these boho braided style and these darling leopard metallic slides. This is the first season I’ve added a slide to my shoe collection and I can say it won’t be the last. They’re just easy! Seriously, the moment you add a slide to your spring wardrobe, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without a pair!
The bow.
Having bows on your toes is another essential spring trend this year. I’m talking oversized statement bows that give you all the springtime warm fuzzies. I picked up this patterned bow slide {again, under $50!} immediately when it launched and have been happily wearing them every chance I get. The best part? It comes in 3 fun fabrics! I’m also really loving these ultra feminine bow heels and this bow loafer version of my mules. Definitely can’t get enough of bows this season!
All things white.
White is an essential color choice for footwear this spring and one that you’ll find offered in almost every style variety this year. White will be everywhere! Want to achieve two trends in one shoe? Simply grab one of the spring trend styles provided above and snag it in white! It’s truly easy as that. I love this simple trick and applied this exact concept when picking up these gorgeous woven white mules. Win, win!
What spring shoe trends are you loving this season?! Do you already have these styles in your wardrobe? Gimme the deets!
Xx, Amanda

All these shoes are closet essentials! I have always been a fan of wedges and slides so I have those in my collection already but I am still warming up to the white shoe trend. I am sure I will find one that will work for me but at the moment still looking!
