Nars | Blush in Orgasm
The Blush.
Ahhh, there’s nothing better than a good rouge to wake up the cheeks. After we finish our two-step contour {deets on the Contour Part Un here and Part Deux here} it’s essential that we add a little color back into our face. The easiest way to do this is by adding a powder or cream based blush onto the apples of our cheeks and blending up into our cheekbones. On today’s installment in the Holy-Grail Beauty Series, we’re chatting about my favorite blush hue by NARS called Orgasm. And guess what?! This baby comes in both the powder and liquid based formulas. YAY, we have options!
If you’re already a fan of NARS products, chances are that you at least know of, or even own, both NARS cult favorites; the NARS Bronzer in Laguna {Part Deux in The Contour!} and this lovely NARS Blush in Orgasm. So why is this hue a cult classic? Because it looks great on everyone. I’m not kidding! The best part about this hue is that it’s made for all skin tones. My best friend, who is a fiery little redhead, looks absolutely beautiful in this Orgasm hue and it compliments her lighter skin tone really well. This hue truly does work for all and I can’t wait for you to try it!
So what’s the diff between a powder and cream based blush formula? And more importantly, what formula is right for you? That’s all personal preference, honey. Honestly, I use both formulas depending on the look I’m trying to achieve. Think of it this way; go with a powder formula if you want a more natural look that is barely there, yet super easy to build upon. Powder blushes are a safe option. Or, try a liquid formula if you’re going for something more dynamic that is still natural looking, yet adds just an extra oomph to your look. You really can’t go wrong!
Personally, I tend to use the liquid or cream based formulas more so in the summer months when I’m outside and just wear a simple BB cream for a light coverage. By adding this cream based blush formula, it still creates a very natural look that I can build on, yet it now becomes the feature of my face versus the supporting role; in a good way! Another favorite feature of this liquid formula is that the application is not just limited to your cheeks. Add this to your lips, and even eyelids, for a monochromatic look; which by the way, is having a MAJ moment right now.
I can’t wait for you guys to try out this gorgeous NARS blush in Orgasm. I’ve provided a few other powder and cream based blush recs below that I use year round, but this Orgasm hue is by far my fav. This hue truly rolls with every outfit and looks great any time of the year.
What’s your holy-grail hue to add a little color to your cheeks?!
Xx, Amanda
