This pleated velvet midi dress gives me all the feels.
You guys, I’m not going to lie. I lucked out MAJ with scoring this sweet little emerald baby. Not only is it already sold out {I KNOWWW, but I got you with these styles here and here, PLUS more below!} but I was nearly dress-less last week for my gal’s wedding in Delafield. Praise the Lord that all worked out and my near tragedy turned triumph! As Bob Ross would say, call this pleated velvet midi a “happy little accident.” YASSS!
My adventure to the dress holy-grail all started last week when my original dress I bought for my gal pal’s wedding went on backorder. Yes; BACKORDER. How in the shiz could this happen to me?! After all, I spend MONTHS dreaming up my outfits for special occasions. Not in a weird way I assure you; I’m just someone that really enjoys building an all-out outfit that will be on-trend + look stunning in photos. Oh yeah, and another fun tid-bit about me is that I’m someone that never wears the same dress twice to a wedding. After all, it’s a special occasion so why not try something fun and enjoy a standout piece? #YOLO
Back to this blasphemous word backorder. For reference, the word backorder has always been an all-time fear of mine. I still can’t believe that this fear actually came to life and I lived to speak about. For a comparison, the word backorder gives me a similar reaction to those that cringe and fear the word “moist” – Yes. Now you’re with me. I know we’re on the same page with the moist reference – it was that bad.
When my fear became reality, I knew I needed to act fast. I searched everywhere for the one trend I knew I wanted to rock for my girl’s day – a velvet dress. Now, sure; many places have any old velvet dress I could’ve bought, but I was looking for a very specific look – come on, guys. It’s me! Of course I was. Long story just a tish longer, I found this emerald pleated velvet midi and it was love at first sight. I bought that baby in that instant and rocked this number all day // night without any discomfort – an essential aspect of any great piece for a special occasion! A true fashion triumph I’m proud to have lived and told about.
What’s your biggest style fear?!
Xx, Amanda
