Ahh, Those Summer Hues.
Well apparently this is the week of The Ruff for me? I guess this means I’m already in deep. I mean, how can you blame me? This look incorporates all things I’m loving right now: white denim + summer hues + sweet little ruffles {repeat from here}. I guess it’s official – Must. Get. Every. Ounce. In.
Although the ruffle is a trend we’ll continually see over and over this fall {refer back to this post for the full-on deets!} the ruffle is certainly a style we should be wearing now. Personally, I’m finding myself soaking up every ounce of summer by styling this trend around gorgeous summer hues even though it’s already September {say it isn’t so!}.
If you’re a Minnesotan, you’ve already felt the temperature start to turn since about ohhhh, August 1st. Yes, this summer has been quite short-lived for us. Although Minnesota is typically known for it’s four distinct seasons, most of the time it likes to throw everyone for a loop and do whatever it feels like. Think 80’s in March or low 60’s in mid-August. Basically, Minnesota is the Jon Snow of seasons; it knows nothing.
Since I’m a homegrown Minnesota gal, I learned early on that when it comes to weather, you just gotta roll with it in Minne. The same concept applies to pieces that are in your closet year round. Take this pair of white denim for instance. Ever since dinosaurs roamed the earth, there has been this fictitious rule that “Thou Shall Not Wear White After Labor Day” – I’m here to tell you first hand that this rule is straight crap. You can wear white any time of the year you please. Just think of wearing your fall // winter whites a bit differently than you would during the summer season; it’s all about mindset. {More to come on this approach – I promise!} For now, wear those pastels proudly and squeeze out every last drop of summer warmth. I’ll sure miss it!
What trends will you miss most about summer?! I’d love to hear!
Xx, Amanda
