Givenchy | Prisme Libre Loose Powder
The Finishing Powder.
I never knew what true love was between a human being + a beauty product until I discovered this Prisme Libre Loose Powder by Givenchy. I mean, this product is insane, to say the least. So how do I use this sweet unicorn powder? After I finish my contour {part un}, I simply dust the Prisme Libre all over my face and watch the magic unfold right in front of my eyes. It’s that easy. The heavens sing, glitter rains down and all is a little better in the world.
So what sets the Prisme Libre Loose Powder aside from the rest of the setting or finishing powders out there? First, let’s establish the difference between these two very different powders and why you need them in your life. Let’s break it down!
Setting Powder.
A setting powder does exactly as it describes, it sets your makeup! After your makeup application is complete, you simply dust a setting powder {or spray – I love this one} all over your face for prolonged wear. Amazing right?!
Finishing Powder.
A finishing powder should be used as the last step in your face makeup routine to fill in any imperfections. These powders create a flawless finish to your face and give you just a little extra kick for your day. I’m talking, evening out skin tone, hiding fine lines, etc.
So again, why use Prisme Libre when you could just get a simple setting powder? Let me tell you why. Because you can actually use the Prisme Libre Loose Powder as BOTH a setting powder and a finishing powder. What?! Stop it. Seriously though, this baby not only sets my face makeup for the next 12+ hours of wear, but it ALSO color corrects my skin and provides the most gorgeous illuminating effect I’ve ever seen. I can’t rave enough about the Prisme Libre as it adds just a certain je ne sais quoi that you won’t find with any other product. You HAVE to try this!
So here’s the deets – The Prisme Libre comes in four colors, but have no fear! This product goes on sheer and is completely weightless when applied. Personally, I’ve only tried color 1, the Mousseline Pastel, which is great for all skin tones and for someone that wants a more natural opal effect. However, I’m dying to try color 7, the Voile Rose, which provides overall radiance. It looks gorgeous!
I can’t wait for you guys to try this hybrid powder and witness first hand the difference it actually makes to your overall makeup application. Eek!! However, if you’re ever in a pinch and need a refill stat, I’ve provided a few other recs below that I’ve tried in both the setting and finishing powder categories.
What color of the Prisme Libre Loose Powder will you try?!
Xx, Amanda
