My tips for styling white denim in the winter.
I can almost guarantee that you’ve head of the lifelong fictitious rule “Thou Shall Not Wear White After Labor Day.” Right? And most likely, because you’re a doll and you don’t want to commit any fashion faux pas, you’ve abided by this rule your entire life. RIGHT?! Although I mention slight details {in this post here} on why I believe wearing white denim after Labor Day is a lifelong little lie, I wanted to circle back as promised, and provide all my tips for how to style white denim in the winter.
First things first, why do I wear white denim in the winter? Well, why not?! There are no limits anymore! Minus the whole slushy brown snow spraying up the back of your legs as you walk thing. But that discussion is for another time.
I love wearing white denim in the winter because it’s an easy neutral way of brightening up your look at an otherwise dreary time of year. So let’s get to it! Here are my tips for successfully styling white denim in the winter.
Style white denim with cold weather fabrics.
When you use white denim as the foundation for your overall winter look, we’re able to play off that style and build the rest of the look accordingly. How? We simply pair our white denim with seasonally appropriate cold weather fabrics. That’s it! Creating any look is all about balancing your pieces based on the season. What heavier fabrics come to mind when thinking of winter? If you’re thinking faux fur, chunky or oversized sweaters, leather, or deep rich hues, you’re on the right track! These items will provide contrast to your white denim and create the ultimate winter look. Just see below!
Details on how I created this winter white denim look.
For this particular look, I wanted to demonstrate just how versatile wearing white denim in the wintertime can be when styled with cold weather fabrics. I’m in love with this gorgeous faux fur bomber and knew it had to be my heavy duty winter layer for this look. Many of your already know my obsession with a good faux fur piece, so it only seemed appropriate. After all, it’s just a classic winter piece that ties in the bright white denim for my overall winter look. What’s left? I simply filled in the blanks. To bring out the leather detailing in my bomber and balance out the heavy fur fabric, this black lace cami was an easy choice. I finished my look by adding my favorite sock booties and a classic black clutch. Finishing you look with an accessory is a must and these tiered tassel earrings have quickly become one of my favorites. Bonus? Tassels will continue their reign as a must-have for spring.
