Yes, cropped flare denim should be worn in the cold too.
Okay, so I’m actually dying for spring. These warmer temps can come at anytime! Please, Lord please. But just because it’s still cold here in Minne, doesn’t mean I’m not wearing my cropped flares. I repeat! Do not tuck your cropped flare denim away just because of colder temps! Sure, I get that associating a cropped style with the warmer months makes sense, but I’m here to tell you to forget that ish! These cropped flares should be worn all year round and I’m going to demonstrate the easiest way to do so in the colder months.
Here’s my secret – style your cropped flare denim with a good mid-calf boot. That’s it! I swear it’s that simple. By adding a mid-calf boot to this cropped flare style, it creates that slimming elongated leg we’re looking for {always}, as the mid-calf boot will tuck up and under the crop of the pant. Bonus…?! This also ensures no skin exposure in the brutal winter temperatures. Haay!! Whammy.
So what’s a great mid-calf boot to style these cropped flares with? My absolute favorite mid-calf boot to pair with my cropped flares are these essential sock booties. You may remember my love for these sock booties from this post here and here. These booties form to the shape of your leg by hugging your ankles, which creates the ultimate slimming effect. You mean, double slimming?! I’ll take it. Especially in the colder months when I typically resemble a hibernating bear with all the necessary layering going on. Oh, Minnesota.
Do you own a cropped flare style denim in your wardrobe? If you’re already on this style bandwagon, don’t tuck these babies away when the cold hits! Rather, try styling these cropped flares year-round; you’ll find this style will become even more versatile when you approach it this way.
If you’ve been hesitant to try this cropped flare style, I highly recommend you dive in and give this style a go. Why not?! Try something new and step out of your comfort zone. To start out slow, begin by incorporating this cropped flare style into your spring and summer wardrobe {for a shoe pairing, think mules or any sandal} and transition this style into the colder months with your mid-calf booties of choice, as I have above. Have fun with it!
P.S. How cute is this greenhouse?! If you’re in the Twin Cities area, I highly recommend Tonkadale if you’re looking to spruce up your indoor or outdoor garden area. As I mentioned here, I was a complete kid in a candy store during out visit!
Xx, Amanda
