And so it begins – Rosé Outlook’s Holy-Grail Beauty Series.
Over the next few weeks I will be providing an inside look at my TOP holy-grail beauty products that I live + breath by. To keep things simple, I’ve organized these products by steps of use in my every day beauty regimen. Each post of the series will provide a product category and details on how // why this product made it onto my holy-grail beauty list.
Before we get started, I think it’s important to speak about the fundamentals of how a product should make the cut and ultimately join your collection. For me, a product must meet the following requirements:
The product HAS to do what it claims and MUST do it well.
No exceptions. This may be obvious, but sometimes we can get caught up in the aesthetics of a package or a celebrity review of why it’s the best. Why would I shell out Uncle Rico’s sweet moola for a product that simply doesn’t work? I wouldn’t, and neither should you.
The product has to stand out.
With thousands of options out there, does this product stand above the rest or is it just more of the same? Stakes are high with me; I don’t apply just any ‘ol product to my skin or hair. Any why should I? Treat your body like the temple it is. Take care of yourself! This certainly doesn’t mean you have to spend top dollar on everything, but be sure to know when and where to splurge a little. The reality is, quality ingredients do cost more than the filler foes.
A cost-benefit analysis should always be conducted.
Is this product really worth the investment or is there something else out there that’s a better all-around option? This step is really up to each individual user and is based on what you’re comfortable spending on your products. Don’t listen to anyone else but yourself on this one!
So here it goes. Step 1 of my every day beauty regimen.
Guerlain | L’Or Pure Radiance Face Primer
The Face Primer.
This face primer. Lord, where do I begin?! As a combination skin-type that usually gets oily in the classic t-zone, this is the only {and I seriously mean ONLY} primer that I can successfully get a full 12+ hours of wear without my face sliding off. I know, it’s quite miraculous.
If you’re new to face primers, you’re sure in for a treat. Apply this as Step 1 in your beauty regimen and before your foundation application. Simply add a pea-sized {not much!} amount of this gel-like primer all over your face and let it set for a few short minutes before moving on to the next step. Think of this L’Or Pure Radiance Face Primer as the essential base to your overall makeup application. Not only will it allow your foundation to go on smoother, but it will actually make it last.
Now, some people may think “I don’t need a face primer! My makeup is fine without it.” Okay, I’m here to tell you that I promise you absolutely, positively do need a face primer before applying any coverage to your face. Think of a face primer in the same way you would a primer before you paint your walls in your home. Why do we prime? To prepare the wall so the paint is able to adhere to the walls surface, while ultimately providing paint durability and protection to the wall that’s being painted. This is the same concept with your face before any makeup application.
So how do you find a good face primer? The key to finding the best face primer is to find what works for you and your skin-type. For my combination skin-type, the L’Or Pure Radiance Face Primer is my baby. However, I’ve provided a few other face primers I’ve tried along the way that also work well for me and my skin-type. Check ’em out below!
