Camo. A Print For All.
There’s nothing quite like the camo print. It’s the perfect mix between edgy + classic and is always on trend. Although it may initially seem bold during your first few encounters, it’s evident that with time camo will eventually win you over; there’s just no choice. So how exactly do we get to this point? We first need to start with our mindset by treating camo as the neutral that it has become. Yes, I said it – camo is a neutral. A neutral that can {and SHOULD} be worn all year-long, by all ages, and deserves the same cred you give your stripes.
My love affair with camo started a few years ago when I finally came to my senses and voiced “I accept you” to the pattern that had been haunting my dreams for quite some time. I wanted to love it, but didn’t know how or where to start. Thoughts raced through my mind that consisted of questions such as “would I feel as though I needed to salute myself when I walked past a mirror?” or “would I be able to potentially slide out of a meeting at work and go unnoticed since I’d be in disguise?” I didn’t know the answers to these questions, but the mere thought that this could even be a possibility caught my attention almost immediately. Fast forward to present day, and I’m styling this edgy little pattern left and right + day and night.
So what are the rules for wearing camo? There really aren’t any! Well, except for wearing camo head to toe; this is not acceptable at any point unless you’re in the military. Outside of the military, we need to think of camo as a highlighting piece. Whether that be a jacket {as I’ve styled here} a top, or a bottom; just stick to one camo piece per look and build the rest of your outfit off of that. Have fun with it! Push yourself to start giving this neutral a try; I promise it’s here to stay.
